A 3-episode OVA series released in 2004, Re Cutie Honey is a spin-off of the original 1972 manga Cutie Honey. The story follows android girl, Honey Kisaragi(AKA Cutie Honey) as she uses her powers to battle the evil super villain organization known as Panther Claw, run by a mysterious and powerful woman known as Sister Jill. In her adventures, Honey befriends tough-as-nails female cop, Aki Natsuko, who is also out to stop Panther Claw from destroying Tokyo.

Re Cutie Honey is one hell of an over the top series! Being a magical girl series at heart, it features all manner of special attacks that have to be yelled out, crazy looking bad guys(or bad girls in this case), and of course the token nude transformation sequences the heroine makes in front of others! :D Even though it is technically a magical girl anime, it is anything but! The villains are way too ridiculous and over the top to ever be taken seriously(save for Sister Jill), the girls are more bad ass than sweet, and there is an amazing amount of naked ladies to look at! XD Sailor Moon this is not!

To top off the impressive amounts of action though is the high levels of yuri to be found and enjoyed in this short series! Aki is in the role of tsundere in this case as she is clearly at odds with Honey at the start of the series, namely Honey's peppy attitude and the fact all of Honey's fights against Panther Claw cause massive ammounts of damage to the city. It does not help much that Honey's outfits and powers make her seem like a member of Panther Claw! :P But in the short span of three episodes, Aki warms up to Honey and trusts her, even opening up to her about her feelings. Honey herself has always tried to get closer to the hard-headed female detective and gets depressed over Aki's initial coldness. One of the major moments in the series happens after Honey breaks down after a fierce fight against Panther Claw, as well as from stress caused by tensions between her and Aki. Aki(being awesome as hell!) decides to revive Honey with the power of love! In this case by warming Honey up with her own body! XD The developing love between these two is awesome!

Luckily, Honey manages to destroy Sister Jill and save Tokyo, thanks to some much needed help(and love) from Aki! Yes, there is an amazing kiss between them and they do appear to get together! F**K YEAH to happy yuri ends! XD
Needless to say, this is one hell of a fun yuri anime! It has great animation, awesome action, fun and bad ass characters, and amazing yuri! Sadly there has yet to be a US release. T.T But don't let that stop you from enjoying this fun series!
